Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief to determine their compliance with the aims and scope of the Journal, scientific writing standards, and publication ethics requirements. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening enter the peer-review process.

The Journal employs a Double-Blind Peer Review system, meaning that the identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers, and the identities of the reviewers are concealed from the authors. Following the initial approval, each manuscript is sent to at least two expert reviewers in the relevant field.

The final decision regarding the acceptance, revision, or rejection of a manuscript is made based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the judgment of the Editorial Board. In cases where there is a significant disagreement between reviewers’ opinions, the manuscript may be referred to an additional reviewer for further evaluation.

All stages of the review process are conducted confidentially and in accordance with the principles of impartiality, fairness, and publication ethics. Authors may also track the status of their manuscripts throughout the review and evaluation process via the Journal’s submission system.

General Process:

  • The submitted article will be initially reviewed and evaluated within a maximum of 2 days after submission.
  • If approved in the first stage, the article will be sent to reviewers for the peer review process, which may take a maximum of 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the subject of the article.
  • If the article is accepted with the condition of making revisions, the esteemed authors will have only 10 days to revise and resubmit their article.

Detailed Process:

  • After the corresponding author submits the article to the system, it will be reviewed for adherence to writing and formatting principles within a maximum of 2 days in the first stage. Therefore, to expedite the review process, please carefully read the author's guidelines before submitting the article and format it precisely according to the journal's writing template available in the system.
  • If the first stage is approved, the article will be evaluated for content quality and relevance by the editor-in-chief, the specialized secretary, and the scientific committee in the second stage, which usually takes 1 to 3 days. At this stage, initial revisions may be suggested to the author to enhance the quality of the article and facilitate its entry into the review process.
  • After the second stage is approved, the article will be sent to 2 reviewers, and the peer review process will proceed as follows:
    • If both reviewers reject the article, it will be rejected.
    • If one reviewer recommends a major revision while the other rejects the article, it will be rejected.
    • If both reviewers recommend a major revision, the article will be referred back to the author for revision.
    • If one reviewer approves or suggests minor revisions and the other rejects the article, it will be sent to a third reviewer, and a decision will be made based on the third reviewer's opinion.
    • After the author revises the article according to the reviewers' comments and resubmits it, the article will be sent to the reviewers for comparative evaluation.
    • A reminder email will be sent to the reviewers every few days, and if the article is not reviewed after 20 days, it will be withdrawn from the current reviewer and sent to a new one.

Note: Depending on the extent of requested revisions, the reviewers' comments, and the speed and accuracy of the authors' revisions, obtaining final acceptance in this journal may take a maximum of 45 days.
