Abstract
Performance evaluation is a periodic, formal, and often written assessment of employee job performance, which is used to achieve various goals. Recognizing and rewarding diligent employees, and creating motivation to improve their performance and that of other employees, are among the main reasons for performance evaluation. In this study, the employee performance evaluation system of the Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company - Northeast Region has been examined in order to identify its damages. The research method in this study is descriptive and the single-sample T-test has been used to analyze the questionnaires. The results of the research show that the content of the employee performance evaluation system is appropriate, but the implementation of the employee performance evaluation system is not appropriate. By examining each content and implementation component of the employee performance evaluation system, it was also determined that the status of the components of the goals, time, evaluators, and the method of implementation and feedback of the employee performance evaluation system is not appropriate. Finally, by examining the variables affecting the components of the goals, evaluation indicators, evaluation method, time, evaluators, and the method of implementation and feedback, solutions for improving the existing performance evaluation system have been presented.
