Abstract
In today's world, given the key role of information and communication technologies in economic and social development, home-based businesses are considered as one of the most important factors in these developments. This research aims to investigate and analyze the positive and negative effects of information and communication technologies on home-based businesses. Quantitative and qualitative research methods were used to collect and analyze data. First, hypotheses were put forward by reviewing previous studies and analyzing the problems existing in home-based businesses. Then, using quantitative and qualitative methods, information was collected through expert interviews and designed questionnaires. The data were analyzed using SPSS software. The Unified Adoption and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model was used as a technology adoption model in home-based businesses, and the role of information technology in the development of these businesses was examined using this model. The statistical population of this research consisted of 132 students and job seekers. The results of the study show that home-based businesses have greater growth and development potential and access to new markets by utilizing information and communication technologies. The willingness to use new technologies in these businesses is largely influenced by the perceived usefulness, ease of use, and subjective norms of decision-makers. Creating technical infrastructure and related training can play an effective role in improving the productivity and sustainability of home-based businesses and be effective in creating job opportunities and economic growth.
