The Vehicle Routing Problem with Mobile and Stochastic Customer Locations (VRPMSCL) introduces a new perspective for modeling vehicle routing problems. In practice, after a customer place an order and the service provider begins planning the delivery route, customers do not necessarily remain at their initial locations. Instead, they may move within a geographical area, making their exact locations uncertain. In the classical Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP), customer locations are assumed to be fixed and known in advance, and delivery routes are planned accordingly. However, allowing customers to move within a geographical area after placing an order fundamentally challenges the traditional concept of fixed customer locations in the classical VRP and introduces uncertainty into the routing process. Although this approach can enhance customer convenience and satisfaction, it also increases the complexity of delivery planning because the service provider must deal with uncertainty in customer locations. This paper presents a mathematical modeling framework for the proposed VRPMSCL to address vehicle routing under customer location uncertainty within a geographical area.
